90th Anniversary Celebrations
The Church of St Andrew 2024 will mark the 90th Anniversary of the opening of the Presbyterian Church of St Andrew, Canberra in 1934.
The congregation, friends and guests will have an opportunity to celebrate God’s blessings to us, remember those who have gone before (The Living Stones) and acknowledge and endorse the legacy of God’s work in His Church.
The 90th Anniversary Committee, established by Session with Sue Hogan as Chair, have developed a series of events which will culminate with anniversary services on Sunday 22nd September.
Friday 20 September 2024
The congregational dinner is at the Canberra Yacht Club on Friday 20th September.
Saturday 21 September 2024
On Saturday 21st September there will be an Open Time at St Andrews’. There is morning tea from 10.30am then a Heritage Tour at 11:30am. There will also be displays from several Church organisations in the Hamilton Room.
Sunday 22 September 2024
Celebration and worship at the morning church service at 9.30am, with ceremonial tree planting and cake cutting to follow. The evening service at 5pm will share stories and testimonies of God’s work here in Canberra over the past 90 years.
